I am the co-founder of a small hyperlocal video news company. When we started the business we obviously needed to extract as much value out of our gear as possible. That meant choosing consumer equipment for most of our production workflow, including using small Canon Vixia HD cameras over more expensive professional models.Of course good video requires good audio, and while the Vixia has a microphone port they don't work out of the box with high quality microphones. Very nice audio addition to your video equipment.
The BeachTek DXA-2T. I just received this wonderful little package today. So far in my initial testing, I really like this little guy. It has 2 balanced XLR connectors, which means, with an XLR connector and a good mic cable, you might go as much as 1,000 ft between the microphone and the camera (though I suppose your camera wouldn't shoot that far) It has very nice Neutrik connectors which are the best in the world. I tested it with a Shure SM57 and thought the audio was very nice. It has a switch so that you can get a single microphone to come into your camera as both left and right channel. It's balanced very well, and my Canon GL-2 had no problem standing on a table with the DXA-2T under it. Overall, my initial impression is that this is a VERY nice piece of gear. There is no phantom power, so you would need another add on piece if you wanted to use a condenser microphone.

Excellent Sound Solution for Interviews, Sturdy Construction
I use this adapter with a Panasonic HDC-TM700K for interviews and have been extremely pleased with its performance. One input is for the stick mic handled by the interviewer and the second input is for a lavalier mic on the subject. This adapter gives me fantastic flexibility for a wide range of voices. For interview situations, it's perfect for my needs.

Just what I needed!
Could not be more pleased with this item! It definitely is "low noise", I can't hear any at all, even with the volume cranked. Small, light weight, portable, high quality...just what I needed. It supplies phantom power, even 12V, which works perfect for my Audio Technica mics, so I can conserve battery. I use it with my Canon T2i running Magic Lantern (to disable to cameras very noisy AGC). This preamp/mixer is a perfect compliment. And what's better, on their website, there's a truck load of really informative videos that helped me make my decision in not only buying this product, but mics and other things as well. Totally worth it!

I was so glad to find this product!
I thought I was going to have to cobble together various cords and plugs - until I found this great product. I bought two of them, and I we use them to play instrument apps on the iPhone and iPad. The length is just right for using on stage. The sound quality seems to be good. I also use it to play my iTunes music through the sound system. The right angle is very helpful if, like me, you are holding the device during use. It greatly reduces the risk of cord damage. Excellent product.

I have had this JVC KD-AVX11 for about 1-1/2 years. It rocks. I picked up the backup camera accessory kit. Let me start by saying, the screen is short from being too small, it is large enough to see all the details in movies and music videos. The bluetooth phone works great and its microphone is very good. The backup camera is cystal clear. I had one of those wireless ones before, this one blows them away. Even at night it is bright and clear. The Ipod connector is okay. The only problem with it is that you can't see more than one song at a time on the dispay. But what is amazing is the usb port. Connect a 20 gig usb drive with as many songs as you want and it will show up on the display in groups of 6-8 songs. Easly to scroll and pick songs. The only disadavantage is that if you have too much songs (more than 10 gigs)then it will take about 20 seconds to read the drive. Also, videos can be watched from your usb drive too. Customer Video Review Length:: 5:05 MinsI test the microphone on a Canon HF200 camcorder at the beach with both Ocean and Creek noise in the background. The difference is quite remarkable. Don't turn your speakers up too loud, as the volume changes quite a bit when I go from on board to lavalier microphone. Note that I had to actually LOWER the volume during edit because the Audio Technica mic would have clipped, otherwise.During video editing I made the following adjustments:Sound track +4db (to compensate for excessively quiet on board microphone)Just the ATR3350 segment -3.4db (to compensate for the Audio Technica microphone being so loud)Final analysis: If I was using JUST the lavalier microphone, no adjustments neccessary and...

Great lapel mic for the price
The Audio Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone appears to be a nearly identical replacement lavalier mic from the recently discontinued Audio-Technica ATR-35S Lavalier Microphone.Reading some blog advice about video podcasting and playing around a bit with making YouTube videos, "sound" in video is usually the part that makes video quality bad. So I was looking for a reasonably price lapel mic to use. The ATR-3350 is quite inexpensive considering that you can easily spend $200 for a professional model lapel mic.If you read some of the "1" (hate it) reviews from the ATR-35S, they pretty much all related to "low volume issues". The Audio-Technica ATR-35S lavaliere microphone is a higher than average quality microphone. The benefits of the microphone are that the small microphone can clip onto a shirt, or tie with the provided clip. The battery compartment and on/off switch has an additional clip on it to attach to your belt, or pant waist.The overall sound quality for the microphone is astounding considering the price, averaging at about $25, often times less. The material used to fabricate the microphone feels sturdy, and that it will last. Overall I'm extremely happy with the quality of the sound, and the microphone itself.
